ENOUGH!

In California, we are starting to hear a lot of pundits and talking heads tell us recalls are too expensive, time consuming and unnecessary. We The People of California know the truth. A Recall is a WMD against politicians who tell us one thing and then do another. When politicians run for office or seek reelection, they promise the voter’s a hard-line stance on taxes and preach fiscal responsibility and accountability. Unfortunately, not every politician keeps his or her word once elected. We’ve seen an extreme amount of elected officials in recent terms throw their constituents under the bus and break campaign promises at whim. It’s time to start holding them accountable for their word and their votes. Politicians need to be reminded they serve at the pleasure of the voters, not their ego’s and special interests. We hired them and we can fire them. If we don’t fire them, and we continue to allow their performance to go unchecked, they get the message they can tax, spend and vote against our will and our best interests. It also tells the next generation of politicians they are free to repeat the cycle and the voters will just sit by and let it happen again. In our jobs, in the real world, we would be fired for poor job performance.  The political elite should be no different.
